A home is the place you go after a long day at work or school to relax and share some laughter with your loved ones. Better yet, for the ones who are still single and searching, it is a place that gives you peace and comfort in your silence. But what happens when someone from outside comes to invade on your peace? Not just any outsider, but a burglar?
This is where we come in with a few tips to keep your home safe from burglars. You do not need to invest and install expensive alarm systems, at times, all you need are simple do it yourself tips:
- Keep your landscaping trimmed and neat.
Get rid of any potential places for thieves and intruders to hide or lurk. Ensure to keep large bushes and shrubs away from windows.
- Do not leave a ladder hanging out in your back or front yard.
Most burglars tend not to bring their own ladders, don’t make their work easier for them by giving them an easy way into your bedroom.
- Keep your lawn neat!
If you let your grass grow too high, it may be a sign that you are on vacation, which is a good sign for a burglar as they will be assured that nobody is home to interrupt their job.
- If you have a home alarm installed, ensure that there are no mirrors that reflect the alarm.
Burglars may just be able to see if your alarm is unarmed from outside, ensure that you have checked and rechecked your mirrors from all angles when outside your house.
- Do NOT post on social media that you are away on holiday, vacation or even away from home as this is a sure way to get the burglars interested in your property.
How else do you keep burglars and intruders away from your home?
