Provides coverage for Buildings, Swimming Pools, Furniture and Fittings, Food Stocks, Books, Laboratory Equipment, Contents of all descriptions against Fire, Floods and Storm, Lighting, Malicious Damage, Earthquakes, Explosions resulting from bursting of gas cylinders and appliances, riots, strikes and civil commotion (including student strikes up to Kes 100M).
Provides cover following forceful and violent entry into the school premises. Damage to furniture, beds, beddings, lab equipment, books, food stuffs and or any other declared contents are covered in this section. Theft occasioned by school employees or students is not covered in this section. Key policy requirement – presence of a guard or a watchman on premises at all times.
Provides all risk cover for computers and accessories, school laptops, photocopiers, microscopes and other portable items belonging to the school.
- Indicative premium rate is 0.75% of the sum insured.
- Cover in this section is taken with section A and B.
- Applicable Excess is 10% of each and every loss with a min of Kes 5,000
Provides coverage against third party legal liability claims that may arise in and out of the institution’s premises.
Third party claimants are persons who may have sustained injuries, or had their properties damaged as a result of negligent actions of the institution and or its employees.
Cover is provided against direct financial losses resulting from dishonest acts of specified employees/ in the course of employment provided that such acts are discovered within 6 months.
It’s important that the institution obtains and files satisfactory reference letters for its employees.
