Unit Manager – Tied Agents
Basic Roles
The Unit Manager is responsible for supervising the development and trackable operations of all the Tied Agents under his/her Unit.
The Tied Agents Unit Manager reports to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities and Authority
- Is responsible for achieving the units’ production target and business growth by meeting the set objectives. He/ She will of recruit, select, motivate, direct, train, develop and manage the agents under his/her jurisdiction.
- Monitor the overall performance of agents in his/her unit and advise the Branch Manager and Head of Branch Network on the appointment of new agents as well as termination of non-performing agents.\
- Gathering current market sales intelligence and trends
- Schedule regular meetings with the tied agents to manage, coordinate sales activities and address the issues of concerns raised by the agents under his/ her unit.
- Prepare monthly productions reports for the management
- Follow business leads and provide feedback
- Adopt highest level of professionalism in handling agents, customers, and all stakeholders
- Ensure that his/her personal production is within the set targets
- Review the training needs for the agents
- Ensure timely processing of the tied agents’ commissions
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A university degree in a Business-related field
- COP qualified or progress in attaining ACII qualification or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in selling general Insurance
- Ability to recruit, develop and retain a motivated field force
- Experience dealing with corporate organisations / corporate relationship management
- Language skills: English and Kiswahili
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office. Knowledge in insurance software will be an added advantage

- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with dynamic teams of 10 to 15 salespersons
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Demonstration of Maturity, Reliability, Integrity, and Discretion
- High orientation towards customer service
- Ability to follow up management issues
